At our office, chiropractic evaluation procedures are geared toward detection and adjustment of the “Vertebral Subluxation ” (👈🏼click on this link for more information on subluxations). The procedures we use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect during your first visit at our clinic.

Thermography: The first part of this process will involve reading spinal heat differences (thermography) from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a byproduct of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. From this we can see how subluxation are affecting these functions of your nervous system.

Spinal X-rays may be taken depending on your age, and situation. There are many reasons why we would not take x-rays including pregnancy, most children, recent usable spinal x-rays and some other various situations. Aside from these situations, x-rays will most likely be a part of the evaluation process when looking for vertebral subluxations. X-rays give us important information including the position of the spinal bones, and the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. X-rays also tell us the relative length of time subluxations may have been there. Most people receive four spinal x-rays at the beginning of care.

The importance of these tests will be explained to you at your Doctor’s Report of Findings (your 2nd visit). However, it is important to note that this evaluation helps to scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your body. It, also, gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress and nervous system function. Using these procedures is more accurate than just depending on “how you feel” on any given day.

Adjust & Discuss

Your 1st Adjustment:  Most of the time after we have learned your history, performed your thermography and looked at any needed x-rays, we will then analyze your spine and perform your first chiropractic adjustment.   To see how we adjust at Steinke Family Chiropractic click here.

Doctors Report of Findings (your 2nd visit)

With this important information we can make a more accurate determination of the chiropractic care your family needs. If you had x-rays, they will be explained to you and covered in detail at your Doctor’s Report of Findings. You will be scheduled for your Doctor’s Report of Findings typically within a week of your initial visit.  At that visit we will give you a care plan and go over any special instructions you will need to obtain the best and fastest possible results.
